The International School of Languages currently provides kids and teens group classes to learn a variety of different world languages.

Our virtual group language classes for children and teens provide an engaging and fun learning environment. Kids and teens will interact with peers, participate in exciting activities, and receive personalized instruction from experienced teachers, all from the comfort of home.


Course Overview

  • Our Fall II Session goes from November 11 to January 25.
  • 8-week session with classes meeting once per week.
  • Tuition for 8 weeks: $240 (1 hr long classes).
  • Students can register at any time. Tuition will be prorated accordingly.
  • No Classes: Nov 11, Nov 26-30, Winter Break: Dec 22-Jan 4, Jan 20.

Class Content

Our language classes are carefully designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group, fostering language acquisition and cultural understanding through engaging and interactive methods. Each class aims to build essential language skills, from foundational basics to advanced proficiency, in a supportive and stimulating environment.

Group Ages 5-8 Years Old

Our language classes for 5-8 year-olds make learning fun and interactive, focusing on building foundational language skills through games, storytelling, and creative activities. Children engage in age-appropriate language exercises, songs, and simple conversations, fostering social interaction and communication skills.

Group Ages 9-12 Years Old

Designed for 9-12 year-olds, our language classes emphasize language proficiency and cultural understanding through engaging activities. Students explore grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills in a structured yet dynamic environment, with interactive games, role-plays, and projects, fostering confidence and fluency.

Group Teens

Our language classes for teens provide a platform for advanced language learning and cultural exploration. Tailored to their interests and abilities, these classes delve deeper into grammar, literature, and real-world conversations, supplemented by multimedia resources and discussions, preparing teens for global communication and academic pursuits.

Instructors

Our programs are led by experienced teachers who have a strong educational background in the foreign language and at least one year of teaching experience. Our instructors are fun, energetic, and deeply committed to helping students achieve their goals.

Class Size

With small class sizes ranging from 2 to 6 students, our instructors can provide individualized attention and create numerous opportunities for students to actively use the target language.

Class Structure

Classes meet weekly for 1 hour. Sessions are ongoing, allowing students to join at any time with prorated payment for any missed classes upon enrollment.

Make-ups

If a student misses a class, they can join another class of the same or similar level within the same week. If no suitable class is available, a make-up class can be arranged at a discounted private lesson rate, available only to group class students for the purpose of making up a missed class.

Course Levels

Our class levels follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), a framework devised by the Council of Europe to reflect linguistic standards for learning all European languages.

Session Format

  • Group courses take place online.
  • Our sessions are 8 weeks long.
  • Class size is 2 to 6 students.
  • Classes meet once a week.
  • Children classes are 1 hour long.

Enrollment and Tuition

  • Sessions are ongoing. Students may join at anytime as long as proficiency levels meet the course level.
  • Payments will be prorated for classes missed upon enrollment.
  • Payment must be made in full before the beginning of the session.
  • An installment payment plan can be offered upon request.
  • Payments can be made with credit card or check. There is a $25 fee for returned checks.

Refunds and Credits Policy

  • Students canceling one week or more before the class start date will receive a 90% tuition refund.
  • Students canceling between one week prior to the class start date and one week after the class has commenced are eligible for an 80% credit toward future classes.
  • No credits or refunds will be issued for cancellations occurring one week after the class start date.
  • All refund and credit requests must be submitted in writing to ISL within the specified timeframes mentioned above.
  • No refunds or credits will be given for absences
  • No refunds or credits available for books and materials.

Make-up for Missed Classes

  • In the event of a class cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, ISL will arrange a make-up class, and all students will be notified. Unfortunately, no alternative make-up dates will be provided for students who cannot attend the rescheduled session.
  • If a student misses a class:
    • Please note that individual students who miss a class will not have make-up classes scheduled for them. However, if a recording of the missed class is available, we can provide it for their review.
    • Students are eligible for a single make-up private lesson at a reduced rate. Once a make-up lesson is scheduled, rescheduling is not possible, and no refunds will be granted for canceled make-up lessons.

Discounts

  • Early Bird Discounts are available when students register during the Early Bird Registration Period (Check our Calendar)

Staff and Academics

  • ISL instructors are native speakers of the target language or are fluent to native-speaker level.
  • ISL will do the best to keep the same instructor for each class; however, may need to substitute in an equally qualified instructor from time to time.
  • ISL does not guarantee that students will pass any tests or exams.
