Most of our programs are virtual.
If you’re in the DMV area, we may have teachers available for in-person instruction at a public location or a place of your choosing.
In addition, all our school and daycare programs are held in person, with teachers traveling to the location. Feel free to check with us for specific availability. We’re here to help!
We offer courses and lessons in a variety of languages, including Spanish, French, Japanese, Russian, German, Mandarin, Italian, Farsi, Portuguese, Arabic, and Korean. Availability may vary, so be sure to check our schedules or reach out to us for the latest information. We’re here to help you find the perfect language program!
While we don’t have a physical storefront for visits, we’re always available to assist you! Our classes are either virtual or conducted at various locations. You can reach us easily by phone, text, or email. If you need to send us something by mail, here’s our address:

If you’re uncertain about which level to enroll in, simply reach out to us. We offer an online assessment or can arrange a complimentary virtual assessment with one of our teachers to assist you in determining the best level for you. If you haven’t created an account with us yet, please do so, and we’ll coordinate your assessment accordingly. We’re here to help you get started on the right path!
Our courses typically have a maximum of 6 students per class.
For group classes, you will need to purchase the book that will be used in class. Information about the required book is available online, or you can contact us if you have any questions. Books can be purchased from our online store. If a particular book is not available in our store, we will provide a link to purchase it elsewhere, or you can buy it from a provider of your choice.
For private lessons, the use of a book will be determined by the instructor based on your goals. Please do not purchase any materials unless it has been agreed upon with your instructor.
If you have to miss a class, you can schedule a make-up lesson at a special discounted private lesson. This rate is only available for one time. During this 1-hour session, you will be able to cover all the material you missed. Additionally, our teachers are happy to send you a quick email outlining the topics you missed in class.
For Adult Group Courses, our classes are recorded and we can also share the recording if requested.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a Private, Semi-Private, or Make-Up lesson, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. If you provide less notice, you will still be charged for the lesson.
- Students who cancel one week or more before the course start date will receive a 90% tuition refund.
- For cancellations made between one week prior to the course start date and one week after the course has begun, students are eligible for an 80% credit toward future courses.
- No credits or refunds will be issued for cancellations occurring one week after the course start date.
- All refund and credit requests must be submitted in writing to ISL within the specified timeframes mentioned above.
- Refunds or credits will not be given for student absences.
- Books and materials are non-refundable and non-creditable.
- If ISL cancels a course due to low enrollment or any other reasons, students will be entitled to either a full refund or the choice to use the amount paid for private lessons.
We are unable to offer prorated options for courses since your space is reserved for the entire session. However, for Adult Group Courses, we record the classes and can provide the recording of any missed classes upon request.
Yes, you can request a certificate of completion once you have finished a course or package. Please contact us for more details.
If a group class is canceled due to the teacher being sick, technology problems, or any unforeseen events, you will be notified via email. The course calendar will be extended as needed to make up for the missed class.
